So, of course I couldn't have roll taken for seminary the ordinary way. I created my own attendance roll on the computer, printed them off on parchment type paper, glued the whole years worth together and made them into a scroll. The scroll ends were made from wood pieces I found at a craft store that I fitted together and attached to dowel rods. The quill feather was purchased from a craft store and I cut the tip into a pen. For information on how to cut a quill pen, check THIS link out and click on the "quill pen" section. It will have you download a .pdf with great instructions.

In the past, I would have the class secretary take roll each morning by using the quill dipped in a little ink well. I don't do that any more. I haven't since one class secretary accidentally spilled the ink well all over the carpet of our classroom at church. The Bishop helped me clean it up but it was a BIG, black mess. So now I just use a pen.

Hope I didn't embarrass you Jacob.
