An Ephraimite from Jerusalem, he and his family are brought, by the sons of Lehi, from Jerusalem to the wilderness.   He and some of his family side with the righteous children of Lehi but others rebel and side with Laman and Lemuel.   He dies during their travels and is buried at Nahom.
