TITLE OF LIBERTY - TOTAL WAR Title of Liberty - Total War is a modification of the Barbarian Invasion Expansion of the popular real-time strategy PC game, Rome - Total War. Set in the lands of Zarahemla around 64 BC, you must govern cities, direct armies and build faith among your people and chief captains in order to prevail against the numerous Lamanite invaders, quell the corrupting influence of secret combinations and suppress King-men rebellions. For those unfamiliar with the Total War series, the game is played out on two levels: Firstly, a strategic turn-based map in which you can manage your cities and move your armies; secondly, a battle map on which battles are conducted in real time. Below are some screenshots that will help you get more of a feel for TOL-TW. ![]() The Campaign Map ![]() In Battle Mode ![]() INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS DOWNLOAD LINK (exe): TOL_1_0.exe (approx. 121 MBs) IMPORTANT: Please follow these instructions carefully before contacting the creator of this modification. Support cannot be guaranteed, and the user understands he takes full responsibility for downloading and using this software. 1. Preparation: In order to install TOL-TW you will need to have Barbarian Invasion 1.6. This can be purchased in various forms: the original commercial game (Rome - Total War and the Barbarian Invasion expansion), the Gold Edition (of which two forms exist), the Total War Eras pack, and through Steam. Whichever package you have you should install it now and then start up the Barbarian Invasion game and go to the menu and choose Options. Once you have done this you should see a number in the top right-hand corner of the screen. This is the version number. If you see a number less than 1.6 then you'll need to patch your version up. The official 1.6 patch is free and can be downloaded from here: SEGA support patches (1.6). After applying this patch please start up the game and check the Options menu item again to ensure you have upgraded to 1.6 2. Installation: Download the TOLTW_1_0.exe from the link above. Once downloaded just double-click the file to run. It will do everything for you but you will need to make sure the installation path is correct (see visual aids below). This path is simply the pathway to the folder containing the Barbarian Invasion exe (RomeTW-BI.exe) which for the original commercial game would usually be something like "C:\Program Files\Activision\Rome - Total War" (do not include the speechmarks!). You MUST set this correctly during the installer process. After the installer has run and installed TOL-TW you should find a new icon on your desktop. Just double click it to start playing! Here are some visual aids for path selection whilst installing:
NOTE: Some (rare) PC set ups have issues with this installation software. If you have followed the instructions and cannot seem to get the game to start then download the RAR version (see link below). You will need to uncompress this file and place the resulting TOL folder (the one inside the folder you extracted it to, which may also be TOL depending on your settings) in your BI folder (for most* this will be "C:\Program Files\Activision\Rome - Total War\bi"). Go to the Rome - Total War folder and right click on RomeTW-BI.exe and choose ‘Send to’ and then ‘Desktop’. Right click on the shortcut you just created and choose ‘Properties’. The target line should look something like this: "C:\Program Files\Activision\Rome - Total War\RomeTW-BI.exe". Add the following so that it looks like this: "C:\Program Files\Activision\Rome - Total War\RomeTW-BI.exe" -show_err -nm -mod:bi\tol * depending on edition of game and your personal set up on your PC. Please adjust accordingly. RAR DOWNLOAD LINK (only for those whose PC have issues with the exe installer): TOL.rar (approx. 119 MBs) SPECIAL THANKS TO James H.
